Why did you choose College Prep? I explored College Prep because I wanted a more intimate high school experience. My middle school felt very large, and I decided that I didn’t want to be on campus with elementary and middle schoolers. In the end, I chose College Prep for the people. During the application process, I found everyone to be welcoming and excited about the prospect of new students joining the school. I grew more and more excited as I learned about everything the school had to offer, and was willing to challenge and push myself to work hard.

What is the biggest difference between middle school and high school? I’ve found that the biggest difference between middle school and high school is the workload and the expectations. The work is absolutely manageable with the right work ethic, but there is more work to commit to, especially at College Prep.

What advice would you give to eighth graders applying to high school? I would focus on finding a school that is a good fit for you without feeling pressure from what your parents want. Pursue what interests you, and understand a school before you decide to apply. Ask questions during your campus visits and talk to current students. Be curious and excited about where you end up going!

What is your favorite place on campus (and why)? My favorite place on campus is the library. I like to go to the library to relax, do work, watch a show, sleep, or hang out with friends.

Campus Involvement: I participate in the Partners Program, I dance, and I’m starting two clubs this year. Participating in the dance program has been one of my favorite ways of meeting upperclassmen. We are a small group and we spend a lot of time together after school. The Partners Program has allowed me to work with younger kids and help them with their schoolwork. It’s really cool to see them grow, learn, and eventually end up doing better in class and enjoying school more. This year, I am starting a Film Analysis club and Model UN with one of my closest friends. I’m excited to get to know other students through these, and to share some of my passions with the school community.

What has been your favorite class so far (and why)? My favorite class so far has been English because of my teacher. She made a huge impact on my freshman year, and strongly supported me as a writer and member of our class.

What is your favorite thing about College Prep? The people. I have found nothing but kindness from everyone in my grade, and have forged lifelong friendships!

What is your favorite character from a movie/book/television series? My favorite character is Wildstyle from the Lego Movie. She is so awesome and represents a very positive female role model for me. She inspired me to dream big during my childhood.

Three unusual things about me:
1. I know the lyrics to a ton of songs, as they come very easily to me.
2. I take Latin, and have been doing so for 4 years.
3. I tap dance!
