advising and student support

Deep learning requires patience, creativity, reflection, and practice. College Prep faculty are available to support individual students’ learning and emotional needs throughout their high school journey.

learning center

The Learning Center is a dedicated space in the heart of campus where students can get support from two full-time subject specialists through one-on-one consultations, workshops, and peer tutoring. The Director of Learning Services provides support for students with study skills, time management, organization, and stress reduction. The Math and Science Learning Specialist provides one-on-one and group support for STEM classes. The Learning Center is available to all students. You can read more here.

peer tutors

College Prep has peer tutoring programs in math, science, writing, and world languages. Faculty mentors train dedicated eleventh and twelfth graders who offer one-on-one meetings and group workshops throughout the year to other students. Mentors help their peers prepare for tests, review homework problems, and reinforce new concepts from class.
The support system at College Prep is unlike any I've seen before. Not only do I have friends and peers who can help me sort out an especially challenging math problem, but my teachers always make time if I request to meet. First and foremost, the community here cares about your health and happiness, not just your academic performance."

counseling

Counseling and health education are key features of the school’s comprehensive support structures. College Prep’s full-time counselor is available to students, parents, faculty, and staff for brief counseling, referrals, and consultation. The counselor meets individually with all ninth graders and transfer students as part of their transition to College Prep. Students may self-refer to counseling or be referred by teachers, administrators, advisors, or parents.
